Summary: The Service Designer role involves establishing service mapping foundations and defining service display criteria for a global leader in consulting and technology services. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to document and refine the service inventory, ensuring clarity and performance metrics are well-defined. This is a hybrid role based in Manchester, requiring three days on-site work. The contract duration is five months, and the role is umbrella only.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and document the current portfolio of services offered across the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate and refine the service inventory.
- Develop and implement criteria for how services should be represented, including service layers and color coding for visual clarity.
- Establish service level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics.
- Determine priority levels based on business impact and urgency.
- Define ownership models (in-house vs. supply chain/third-party).
- Identify hosting locations (cloud, on-premises, hybrid).
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in service design, service architecture, or IT service management.
- Strong understanding of service mapping methodologies and frameworks (e.g., ITIL, TOGAF).
- Proficiency in visualization tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
