Key Responsibilities:
- Mapping and designing end-to-end services across digital, operational and organisational touchpoints
- Leading service discovery and shaping phases alongside product, research, design and delivery teams
- Surfacing service pain points, risks and dependencies across people, process, technology and policy
- Producing service artefacts including service maps, blueprints, user journeys and operating models
- Running workshops and collaborative sessions with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders
- Helping teams make evidence-led decisions in highly regulated, governed environments
- Supporting the transition from insight and strategy into practical, deliverable service design
Key Skills:
- Proven experience designing services in complex, multi-stakeholder or data-heavy environments
- Confidence working across discovery, alpha and delivery phases
- Experience in the public sector or similarly regulated, operationally complex organisations (essential)
- Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach that balances user needs with technical and organisational constraints
- Active UK Security Clearance (SC)

Service Designer (Contract) Do you enjoy breaking down complex services, bringing clarity to messy systems, and designing solutions that actually work in regulated, real-world environments? We’re looking for a Service Designer to join a consultancy-led delivery team working with a nationally significant organisation that provides critical services across government, industry and the public sector. This is a role for someone who is comfortable moving between strategy, delivery and operations, and who thrives in technically complex, data-rich and highly governed settings.

Location: Hybrid (London preferred), or remote with occasional client visits (mainly South of England)
Start: Mid–late February
Duration: 6 months
Rate: £500 per day, Inside IR35
Security Clearance: Active UK SC is required
