Summary: The role of Service Designer involves working with a leading insurance company to enhance their online services through effective service design and product design methodologies. This contract position, primarily remote with occasional on-site requirements in Manchester, focuses on identifying customer and business problems and improving the overall customer experience. The designer will also mentor team members and advocate for service design principles among stakeholders. The contract is for 6 months with potential extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and solve customer and business problems using service design and product design approaches.
- Provide direction for service design across products and services to enhance customer experience.
- Support and inspire team members by up-skilling them in service design thinking and methods.
- Generate concepts, proposals, and plans for new service propositions or improvements to existing services.
- Build advocacy among stakeholders for service design principles and processes.
- Lead projects and manage tasks within those projects.
- Contribute to design crits and community practice sessions to elevate the quality of work.
- Maintain and improve team culture focusing on psychological safety and learning.
- Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to engage others in service design work.
