Summary: The role of Service Designer involves working with a tech consultancy on a financial services project, focusing on developing a new service proposition. The position requires engaging with users and stakeholders to gather insights, mapping features, and testing concepts to ensure alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in service design, particularly within the financial sector, and will be responsible for guiding the team and stakeholders through the design process. This contract role is based in London with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dig into the competition and figure out where our new idea fits in the market
  • Talk to users and stakeholders to really understand what’s needed and what’s possible
  • Map out features and how everything connects across users, business teams, operations, and tech
  • Question the usual way of doing things using behavioural insights and design skills
  • Test out concepts with users, gather feedback, and turn those insights into improvements
  • Set the vision and direction for the team and stakeholders, write up requirements, and share best practices
  • Work closely with product teams to plan and prioritise which features to roll out first

Key Skills:

  • At least 6 years’ experience working as a Service Designer
  • Strong critical thinker who can handle complexity and see the big picture
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and getting their buy-in
  • Experience in the financial sector with a good understanding of how the business works
  • Creative and not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Proactive and organized, great at managing time and comfortable with quick changes
  • Excellent at communicating, presenting, and leading workshops or meetings

Client: Consultancy – Financial Services

Location: London – 3 days per week in office

Note: Candidates must have valid right to work in the UK

We’re working with a well-respected tech consultancy who are seeking a Senior Service Designer for a financial services client project on a new service proposition, conceived within their innovation hub.

Responsibilities

  • Dig into the competition and figure out where our new idea fits in the market
  • Talk to users and stakeholders to really understand what’s needed and what’s possible
  • Map out features and how everything connects across users, business teams, operations, and tech
  • Question the usual way of doing things using behavioural insights and design skills, making sure our new idea fits smoothly into people’s routines and ways of thinking
  • Test out concepts with users, gather feedback, and turn those insights into improvements for the next version
  • Set the vision and direction for the team and stakeholders, write up requirements, and share best practices
  • Work closely with product teams to plan and prioritise which features to roll out first, keeping business goals in mind

Required Experience

  • At least 6 years’ experience working as a Service Designer
  • Strong critical thinker who can handle complexity and see the big picture across different parts of an organization or service
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and getting their buy-in
  • Experience in the financial sector, with a good understanding of how the business works
