Service Design & Transition Analyst

Summary: The Service Design & Transition Analyst role involves supporting service design and transition activities across various projects and change initiatives. The position requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders to ensure service readiness and successful transition into business-as-usual operations. The role is based in Manchester and is offered for a duration of 6 months with a pay rate of £380 per day. The working arrangement includes 2 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Service Design and Transition activities across projects and change initiatives.
  • Work with Delivery Leads, Product Owners, Service Owners, operational teams, and suppliers to confirm service readiness requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain Service Design Packs, transition checklists, readiness trackers, process documentation, and MI.
  • Support go-live readiness, Early Operational Support, warranty exit, and service acceptance activities.
  • Provide input into CAB, Go/No-Go, and service readiness forums where required.
  • Identify and track service risks, impacts, dependencies, and operational support gaps.
  • Coordinate actions across internal teams and third parties to help land change safely.
  • Support handover into BAU, ensuring support models, documentation, and operational processes are in place.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on transition deliverables, risks, issues, and actions.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of Service Transition processes and lessons learned.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in Service Transition, Service Design, Service Management, or IT Operations.
  • Good understanding of ITIL practices; ITIL Foundation desirable.
  • Experience supporting new or changed IT services into BAU.
  • Strong planning, coordination, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of change, release, go-live readiness, and early life support.
  • Ability to translate technical information into clear business language.
  • Experience working in project or change delivery environments.
  • Financial services or regulated environment experience desirable.
