Summary: The Service Design Lead is responsible for leading service reviews and redesigns within Procurement & Commissioning and Analytics, Insight & Performance services in a local authority context. This role involves developing business cases, overseeing service redesigns, and implementing recommendations to improve service delivery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in developing Service Design Business Cases for assigned services.
  • Oversee the redesign of allocated services, including the review of processes, systems, and resources, while managing transition activities.
  • Apply and refine effective methodologies for service redesign.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform redesign proposals, using techniques such as interviews, document reviews, workshops, and business process mapping.
  • Examine datasets, conduct process mapping, analyze data, and perform capacity and demand assessments.
  • Collaborate with service teams and stakeholders to document current operations and identify future service delivery practices.
  • Support and drive improvements and efficiencies within service areas to guide planning.
  • Conduct cost analyses of specific council services.
  • Understand and interpret council business requirements, translating them into effective service delivery models.
