Summary: Our client is seeking a Server Engineer for a six-month contract, requiring three days of on-site work in Crewe and two days of remote work. The role involves utilizing Hyper-V, Windows Clustering, and Network Load Balancers, along with automating server provisioning and maintaining backup solutions. The position is classified as inside IR35, as it involves working via an umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use of Hyper-V with client's standard build processes
- Good experience and understanding of Windows Clustering
- Good experience in configuring Network Load Balancers
- Knowledge of CIS hardening implemented using GPO
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Certificate Authority
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless operations
- Automate server provisioning and configuration using tools like PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions including BMR
- Monitor server performance and availability using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or equivalent client tool
- Maintain documentation for systems architecture, processes, and procedures
- Storage Knowledge advantageous
- Status reporting to senior stakeholders
