Summary: The Server Engineer role is a contract position based in Cheshire, requiring expertise in server management and configuration within a hybrid working environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in Hyper-V within client-standard build processes.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server Clustering.
  • Skilled in configuring Network Load Balancers.
  • Knowledge of CIS hardening practices implemented via Group Policy Objects (GPO).
  • Experienced with Active Directory and Certificate Authority management.
  • Collaborate effectively with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Automate server provisioning and configuration using tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions, including Bare Metal Recovery (BMR).
  • Monitor server performance and availability using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or equivalent client platforms.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems architecture, processes, and procedures.
  • Possess advantageous knowledge of enterprise storage solutions.
  • Energy background preferred.
