Summary: The SEO Optimisation Consultant role involves driving search engine performance through advanced SEO strategies and technical expertise. The consultant will focus on backlink strategies, SEO analytics, and E-commerce SEO to enhance visibility and performance. This position is contract-based for 3-6 months and offers a hybrid working arrangement in London. The role is classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement backlink strategies, including link-building and outreach campaigns, ensuring high-quality backlinks.
  • Utilize Google Tag Manager (GTM) to set up, manage, and troubleshoot tracking tags for SEO and marketing efforts.
  • Analyze organic traffic, user behavior, and SEO performance using Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Extract and analyze large datasets from BigQuery (BQ) to derive SEO insights and create performance forecasts.
  • Optimize and manage Google Business Profile for improved local SEO performance.
  • Set up and manage custom tags, triggers, and variables in GTM to track key SEO and marketing KPIs.
  • Create and automate reports using Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) to monitor marketing performance.
  • Develop custom reporting dashboards integrating GA4, BigQuery, and APIs for campaign analysis.
  • Work with E-commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce) to optimise performance, user experience, and search visibility.
  • Set up and optimise Google Merchant Center product feeds and Shopping Ads to ensure compliance and enhance visibility.
  • Implement conversion rate optimisation (CRO) techniques, including A/B testing and checkout flow improvements.
  • Track and improve performance metrics, including E-commerce tracking in GA4 to monitor sales performance, funnel drop-offs, and customer retention.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in SEO strategy development, backlink acquisition, and technical SEO.
  • Hands-on expertise with GA4, GTM, and BigQuery for SEO analytics and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for extracting and analysing large datasets.
  • Experience with Looker Studio for data visualization and performance tracking.
  • Familiarity with major E-commerce platforms and their SEO best practices.
  • Understanding of Google Merchant Center and Shopping Ads optimisation.
  • Ability to conduct CRO and optimize website conversion funnels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
