Senior Wintel & VMware Engineer

To provide third-line operational support and engineering expertise across Windows and VMware infrastructure estate, ensuring high levels of availability, resilience and service delivery.
The role will support day-to-day operations, incident resolution, change implementation, upgrades, platform maintenance and operational improvement activities across the infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide third-line support for Windows Server and VMware platforms.
- Support the Bank's infrastructure services through incident, problem, change and request management activities.
- Plan and implement infrastructure changes in accordance with established governance processes.
- Perform platform upgrades, life cycle management and maintenance activities.
- Support operational monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Network, Storage and Service Management teams.
- Support disaster recovery, backup and resilience-related activities.
- Produce and maintain operational documentation and technical procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support where required.
- Participate in the out-of-hours support rota.
Essential Experience
- Strong Windows Server administration experience.
- Strong VMware vSphere and ESXi administration experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in a third-line support environment.
- Experience implementing and supporting infrastructure change activities.
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues across multiple Domains.
