Summary: The role of Senior UX Interaction Designer involves leading design efforts within the Department for Education for a 6-month contract based in Glasgow. Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate and influence design decisions: Clearly explain complex ideas, document decisions and risks, challenge assumptions, and build stakeholder consensus.
- Design inclusive, accessible, and ethical services: Ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance while considering diverse user needs, contexts, and sustainability.
- Apply strategic, user-centred design thinking: Align design with organisational goals, shape solutions using constraints, and contribute to design patterns.
- Collaborate and lead within teams: Facilitate workshops, work across disciplines, manage stakeholders, and lead design activities while supporting others.
- Use evidence-driven, iterative design practices: Analyse research and data, prototype and test ideas, and continuously improve designs in agile environments.
- Plan and conduct user research effectively: Select appropriate methods, include diverse users, synthesise findings, embed insights into delivery, and manage research quality independently.
Key Skills:
- Experience in UX design and interaction design principles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
