Summary: The Senior UX Designer (AVP) role at Barclays focuses on enhancing the user experience of internal learning and development tools within the HR function. This position involves re-architecting existing learning materials and applying user-centered design principles to create effective learning experiences. The designer will collaborate with senior stakeholders and lead UX design initiatives while contributing to the overall design strategy of high-profile HR projects. The role requires extensive experience in UX design, particularly in large corporate environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead UX design across existing learning materials, focusing on improving content structure, user journeys, and overall accessibility.
- Conduct user research, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing to create user-centered learning solutions.
- Review, audit, and redesign the structure and flow of learning materials in line with brand, accessibility, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with senior HR stakeholders, learning specialists, and business leaders to align on design approaches and influence learning design strategy.
- Work alongside a Product Manager within Agile frameworks to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.
- Contribute to building UX and design thinking capability within the HR learning team.
- Operate effectively within a large corporate environment, managing internal governance and working across multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Skills:
- Extensive senior-level UX design or product design experience, ideally within large corporate environments.
- Strong expertise in end-to-end UX design, including research, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and user testing.
- Experience leading large-scale design projects independently, with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders, influencing and aligning design strategies to business needs.
- Background in re-architecting existing digital or learning products with a focus on usability and accessibility.
- Strong understanding of commercial design thinking applied to internal employee tools or learning environments.
- Good working knowledge of end-to-end learning design, including needs analysis and evaluation (desirable).
- Familiarity with learning and development frameworks, tools, and methodologies (desirable).
- Experience working with Learning Lab or other digital learning platforms (desirable).
- Project management experience in a learning or HR context (desirable).
