Summary: The Senior User Researcher role at a public sector organization in Edinburgh/Glasgow involves planning and conducting user research to inform product design and development. The position requires collaboration with design teams to generate actionable insights and promote user-centered design practices. This is a hybrid role with an initial contract of four months, offering a competitive daily rate. The role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct user research, utilizing appropriate strategies to test new ideas and concept development.
- Review and synthesize primary and secondary research material.
- Generate new, useful and focused insights and translate them into actionable features.
- Support the setup of approaches and tools for efficient insight documentation.
- Work closely with designers and product managers to devise appropriate research strategies.
- Act as a champion for user-centered design and design research across wider directorates.
Key Skills:
- Experience in applying user-centered research methods and participant recruitment strategies.
- Collaboration with other design disciplines, especially service design and UX design.
- Planning and running interviews and workshops with users and stakeholders.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team, balancing competing priorities.
- Experience leading team meetings, webinars, and events online.
- Track record of working within project management environments.
- Experience communicating complex information with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
