Our client, a forward-thinking local authority, is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to support them. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful traffic, transport, and highways projects while contributing to sustainable and inclusive urban development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver traffic, parking, and highway schemes, including feasibility studies, design, and project completion.


• Conduct site inspections, monitor contractor performance, and manage budgets effectively.


• Prepare technical reports, equality and risk assessments, and Cabinet Member decision sheets.


• Organize and lead consultations with residents, Councillors, and MPs, ensuring clear communication and engagement.


• Provide technical advice on transport legislation and council policies, supporting both the client and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in traffic or highway engineering within a public sector or consultancy environment.


• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, TfL policies, and urban transport strategies.


• Proficient in CAD, data analysis, and report preparation.


• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience in public consultations.


• Ability to manage multidisciplinary projects and budgets efficiently.

What s on Offer

• Hourly rate of 40.


• Flexible hybrid working arrangement (3 days in the office minimum)
