Senior Tester - Onsite in Southampton - Freelance

Summary: The Senior Tester role involves executing both manual and automated testing for applications, with a focus on ensuring quality through comprehensive test strategies. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and effective communication to report defects and track progress. The role is based in Southampton with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for remote work four days a week. The contract is full-time until March 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Executing manual testing for the Front End and the Back End of the applications.
• Reporting test defect/issues and tracking fixes and retesting.
• Understanding user stories and converting to the comprehensive test case.
• Identify new areas of testing to improve quality and test strategies.
• Setting accurate delivery expectations and providing regular updates to the line manager on the progress.
• Participating in daily team scrum meetings to discuss the progress and the issues with other team members.

Key Skills:

• Minimum 5 years experience in manual and automated testing.
• Experience defining test strategies and the management of entire end-to-end test processes.
• Effective team player with ability to build strong working relationships and motivate others.
• Strong and effective communication skills with all stakeholders (including customers, test team, development team, Business Analysts and Project Managers).
• Experience on databases and confident in usage of SQL for querying to use in test acceptance.
• Analytic, problem solving, bug finding and troubleshooting skills necessary.
• Experience in finance industry is desirable but deep understanding business contexts for each project is necessary.
• Good knowledge of Jira, Confluence, TestRail tools.
• University graduated preferably in computer related subject and holding ISTQB (or equivalent) certificates.
