Summary: The Product Improvement Engineer role involves defining technical requirements and conducting functional analysis for new products within a well-known technology and engineering company. Key Responsibilities:
- Define and support technical requirements and functional analysis for new products.
- Predict and mitigate future failures through DFMEA and robust hardware/software design.
- Lead, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies (DVP&R).
- Ensure H&S compliance through risk assessments and ergonomic considerations.
- Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams on manufacturing data and SOPs.
- Drive product improvement loops post-launch, including hands-on support and error logging.
- Act as a product SME, triaging and investigating issues from site engineers.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, leading root cause analysis of failure modes.
- Develop predictive reliability models and quantify the impact of design changes.
- Utilise accelerated life testing to identify and mitigate design weaknesses.

We are working with a well known technology, automation and mechanical engineering business that is looking for a Product Improvement Engineer, initially on a 9 month contract.
You will:
- Define and support technical requirements and functional analysis for new products, influencing design with data.
- Predict and mitigate future failures through DFMEA and robust hardware/software design.
- Lead, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies (DVP&R), including planning, procuring, and operating test rigs and prototypes.
- Ensure H&S compliance through risk assessments and ergonomic considerations.
- Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams on manufacturing data and SOPs.
- Drive product improvement loops post-launch, including hands-on support, error logging, and in-person feedback gathering.
- Act as a product SME, triaging and investigating issues from site engineers.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, leading root cause analysis of failure modes and identifying KPI improvements.
