Summary: The Senior Test Engineer role at Storm ID involves leading testing activities for public sector digital services, ensuring high-quality delivery within agile teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver testing activities across agile public sector projects
- Define and execute effective test approaches, balancing manual and automated testing (where applicable)
- Support quality assurance across user journeys, integrations and service workflows
- Collaborate with developers to embed quality early through shift-left practices
- Provide clear reporting on quality, risks, defects and delivery confidence
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and standards
- Mentor and support other test engineers where appropriate
Key Skills:
- Proven experience operating as a Senior Test Engineer in agile teams
- Strong knowledge of testing principles, strategy and delivery within digital services
- Experience testing APIs, integrations and complex systems
- Familiarity with automation approaches and tools (not mandatory, but beneficial)
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams with varied stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate quality-related risk

Storm ID is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality digital services for public sector clients. This is a short-term contract role, ideal for someone who can quickly embed into agile delivery teams and provide strong quality leadership across complex service environments. You will work closely with developers, product teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet the expected standards for reliability, accessibility and user-centred delivery.

- Experience delivering services aligned with GDS standards
- Background in public sector, government or regulated environments
- Exposure to accessibility, performance or security testing practices
- Consultancy or agency experience adapting across multiple clients/projects
- Experience using Jira, but Azure Devops Test Plans would be good too
- Experience with AWS
