Summary: The Senior Technical Architect (Security) role involves supporting the delivery and management of key security capabilities within a central government client. The position requires oversight on technical issues and the maintenance of design documents in a secure enterprise environment. This is a hybrid position based in Milton Keynes, with an initial contract duration of six months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support technical teams in the delivery of security capabilities.
  • Provide 4th level oversight on technical issues.
  • Maintain and develop high and low designs for products.
  • Conduct impact assessments of functional, capability, and security changes.
  • Create technical and architectural documents such as options assessments and designs.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices for automation and improvement in development processes.
  • Manage requirements and oversee their ownership.
  • Design and migrate to public cloud capabilities in M365/Azure and AWS.
  • Ensure compliance with auditing and security product configurations.
  • Understand and apply NCSC, GDS, CIS, Cyber Essentials, and NIST IT security principles.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in a secure enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of server/operating systems (Microsoft and Linux).
  • Familiarity with network technologies including Hybrid Cloud, Gateways, PKI, Email, VMware, SASE architecture, Cisco, and Palo Alto.
  • Experience in creating technical and architectural documents.
  • DevSecOps experience in CI/CD processes.
  • Experience in requirements management.
  • Knowledge of public cloud capabilities in M365/Azure and AWS.
  • Understanding of auditing and security products configuration.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK government technology strategies and policies.
  • Desirable experience in matrix organizations, Infrastructure as Code, Containerisation, and Microservices.

DV / SC Clearance ideally

Are you a Technical Architect with experience of working in a secure enterprise environment? Are you DV or SC cleared?

My central government client are looking for a Senior Technical Architect to support with the delivery and management of key security capabilities. You will support technical teams in delivery capabilities, providing 4th level oversight on technical issues.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and development of high and low designs for product and carry out Impact assessment of functional, capability and security changes. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a secure environment.

You will need experience of server/operating system (Microsoft and Linux), network technologies, as a minimum:

- Hybrid Cloud
- Gateways
- PKI
- Email
- VMware virtualisation platforms (including VCD, VSAN, and NSX)
- SASE architecture
- Cisco
- Palo Alto

Further Experience Required:

* Experience creating technical and architectural documents such as options assessments, low and high-level technical designs.
* DevSecOps experience in automation and improvement in development and release processes (Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery).
* Experience of requirements management and the ownership of requirements.
* Experience in design and migration to public cloud capabilities in M365/Azure and AWS.
* Working knowledge of auditing and security products configuration.
* A comprehensive understanding of NCSC, GDS, CIS, Cyber Essentials, and NIST IT security principles, along with experience in UK government technology strategies and policies

Desirable:

* Worked in a matrix organisation structure.
* Infrastructure as a Code (IaC), Containerisation, and Microservices.
