Summary: The Senior Technical Architect role involves supporting a Government client in delivering and managing security capabilities. The position requires collaboration with customers and technical teams to ensure effective security solutions while maintaining key business relationships. The architect will lead technical workshops, oversee technical delivery, and develop design documentation for security products. Essential skills include experience in secure environments and various technologies, including cloud and virtualization platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery and management of security capabilities for a Government client.
  • Work with customers and technical teams to maintain security solutions.
  • Lead technical customer workshops and interpret business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Provide 4th level technical oversight to customer issues.
  • Maintain and develop high and low designs for security products.
  • Conduct impact assessments of functional, capability, and security changes.
  • Review and approve project requests to ensure compliance with Client standards.
  • Support governance activities and understand emerging technologies.

Key Skills:

  • Excellent people skills with the ability to explain technical complexity.
  • Experience in enterprise and virtual environments within secure government or defence settings.
  • Knowledge of server/operating systems (Microsoft and Linux) and network technologies.
  • Experience with Hybrid Cloud, Gateways, PKI, Email, and VMware virtualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with SASE architecture, Cisco, and Palo Alto.
  • Ability to create technical and architectural documents.
  • DevSecOps experience in automation and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience in design and migration to public cloud capabilities (M365/Azure and AWS).
  • Understanding of auditing and security products configuration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NCSC, GDS, CIS, Cyber Essentials, and NIST IT security principles.
  • Desirable experience in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and Microservices.
  • Experience working in a Matrix organisation structure.

Senior Technical Architect

Duration: 6 months

Location: Milton Keynes & remote (hybrid)

Rate: £650 per day

A Senior Technical Architect is required for our Government client to support with the delivery and management of security capabilities.

You will work with customers, engineering and development teams to support the solution whilst maintaining key business relationships to ensure security.

You will primarily be working on the delivering of a key security product.

Liaising with stakeholders/customers and interpreting business requirements into technical ones; lead technical customer workshops

Support technical teams in delivery of capabilities, providing 4th level technical oversight to customer issues.

Maintenance and development of high and low designs for product

Impact assessment of functional, capability and security changes

Review, analyse and approve project requests to ensure any technology changes or improvements meet Client standards and make effective use of standards, principles, tools and patterns;

Support governance activities as well as understand existing and emerging technologies and be able to illustrate options and cost benefits

Essentials Skills & Experience required

As the Senior Technical Architect you will possess excellent people skills with the ability to explain and understand technical complexity.

Have previous experience including technologies in enterprise and virtual environments and of working within a secure government or defence environment.essential*

Experience in design and migration to public cloud capabilities in M365/Azure and AWS.

Working knowledge of auditing and security products configuration.

A comprehensive understanding of NCSC, GDS, CIS, Cyber Essentials, and NIST IT security principles, together with previous experience of UK government technology strategies and policies.

Desirable would be any experience in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and Microservices

Have experience working in a Matrix organisation structure
