Senior Technical Architect

Summary: The Senior Technical Architect role involves delivering secure and scalable technology solutions for a UK Government client. The position requires translating complex technical concepts and leading solution design while collaborating with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams. The role is hybrid, requiring three days on-site in Milton Keynes, and is classified as inside IR35. An active security clearance (SC) is advantageous for candidates applying for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver secure, scalable technology solutions for a UK Government client.
• Translate complex technical concepts and lead solution design.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams.
• Produce high-quality architectural documentation (HLD/LLD, options assessments).
• Manage requirements ownership.
• Design and migrate services to Azure/M365 and AWS.
• Utilize DevSecOps practices with CI/CD and automation.
• Implement security tooling and auditing.
• Ensure compliance with UK government tech policy and standards.

Key Skills:

• Experience in secure government environments.
• Strong technical background across Microsoft/Linux Servers and networks.
• Knowledge of Hybrid Cloud, Gateways, PKI, and email services.
• Experience with VMware (VCD, vSAN, NSX), Cisco, Palo Alto, and SASE.
• Ability to produce high-quality architectural documentation.
• DevSecOps experience with CI/CD and automation.
• Experience designing and migrating services to Azure/M365 and AWS.
• Working knowledge of security tooling and auditing.
• Strong understanding of NCSC, GDS, CIS, Cyber Essentials, NIST, and UK government tech policy.
