Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical financial close process, investigating and explaining significant movements and ensuring timely, accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review quarterly insurance technical results under IFRS 17, IFRS 4, and UK GAAP.
- Produce technical inputs for quarterly reporting packs and support financial performance reviews, including variance analysis against plan and prior periods.
- Partner with Finance and Actuarial teams to review actuarial outputs from an accounting perspective.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to senior stakeholders and act as a subject matter expert within the finance function.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements, process improvements, and change projects.
- Review work completed by other accountants, providing coaching and technical support where required.
- Act as a key contact for external auditors, managing technical queries and audit deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement while maintaining a strong financial control environment.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience managing or supporting financial close processes.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS 17, IFRS 4, and UK GAAP.
- Previous experience within the insurance sector, with Lloyd's market experience highly desirable.
