Key Responsibilities:

  • Decomposing, deriving, and allocating system and sub-system requirements with full bi-lateral traceability across the V cycle.

  • Supporting the Product Owner and Group Leader in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Creating system safety cases with applicable functional safety work products and standards.

Key Skills:

  • Automotive or Electrical Engineering Degree with industry experience, preferably in automotive.

Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer - Chassis & Motion Controls Systems, based in Gaydon, UK. Fixed Term Contract position or Contracting (Inside IR35) – possibility of extension

THE ROLE We are seeking a highly motivated experienced Systems Engineer with a specialization in the Vehicle Motion or ADAS Domain.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Working as a member of the Systems Squad, the successful individual will have tasks assigned / prioritised by the System Product Owner and Driver Modes Group Leader; Will be responsible for initial decomposing, deriving and allocating system and sub-system requirements, ensuring full bi-lateral traceability across the V cycle. Will be responsible to for Test Case Authoring and conducting Unit/System Level Verification in the virtual environment. Will support the Product Owner / Group leader in both Route Cause Analysis and permanent corrective actions. Will support the creation of system safety case with applicable Functional Safety Work Products and Standards.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE Automotive or Electrical Engineering Degree with Industry Experience (Automotive preferred) Experience in Automotive Chassis / Motion Systems and associated features, although strong candidates with relevant system experience from other industries such as aerospace will also be considered. Some experience of delivering complex mechatronic systems from concept to production. Demonstratable experience of delivering complex projects to quality, cost and time. You will have a strong background in systems engineering and requirement management, along with change management tools and processes, version control, control strategy documentation. You will have demonstrable experience in Jira toolsets, including but not limited to Confluence and Lucid. Experience in delivery of safety critical active control systems and associated software to ISO26262 standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills. Proficiency in issue resolution management, including both methodology and application e.g. 8D, Fishbone. Full UK driving license

Desirable: Knowledge of vehicle dynamics particularly in the active systems domain. Experience delivering complex integrated control systems for a large scale OEM. Experience in MBSE methods and toolsets (MSOSA or similar) Hands on vehicle testing in the active systems domain including subjective and objective test methods. Understanding of automotive networking, diagnostics and fault handling techniques, and related system development tools (CANalyzer, ASL, CANape, etc.) Previous experience in JLR and their technology/product delivery processes would be an advantage. Recognised industry driving qualifications e.g. JLR’s Class 3 / 4PG etc
