Senior Surveyor

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to support the management and transformation of a large UK-wide property portfolio.

This role combines hands-on building surveying expertise with project delivery responsibilities, supporting both day-to-day property operations and a significant Branch Refresh Programme.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted property expert, managing repairs, maintenance activities, contractor performance, and refurbishment projects across approximately 50 branches.

They will be responsible for balancing multiple priorities while ensuring properties remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ad hoc property and repair queries.
• Conduct site inspections and condition surveys.
• Oversee reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance programmes.
• Support delivery of the Branch Refresh Programme (approximately four branches per month).
• Travel across the estate and undertake final inspections and project sign-off.
• Manage contractors, consultants and suppliers ensuring compliance, quality and budget control.
• Provide technical surveying advice and stakeholder updates.

Essential Skills & Experience

• MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor.
• Building Surveying degree.
• Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience.
• Significant experience within commercial property environments.
• Strong understanding of: Building construction methods and materials.
• Defect diagnosis and remediation.
• Landlord & Tenant legislation.
• Building Regulations and planning requirements.
• CDM Regulations.
• Health & Safety compliance.
• Fire safety and asbestos management.
• Experience delivering capital projects, refurbishments, and maintenance programmes.
• Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
