Summary: The Senior Subcontract Manager role at a prestigious Aerospace client in Luton involves managing high-value and high-risk subcontract commitments within the Combat Air sector. The role is contract-based until September 2025 and demands collaboration across various Integrated Project Teams (IPTs). Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of sub-contract management activities and procurement-related services.
- Manage relationships with strategic suppliers, conducting Supplier Business Reviews.
- Provide leadership in business winning and programme delivery with minimal supervision.
- Accountable for procurement activities within the Procurement & Development IPTs.
- Negotiate complex agreements and risk/reward mechanisms.
- Translate customer/project requirements into commercial documents.
- Develop and negotiate robust contracts for services and deliverables.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Identify solutions for complex risk areas and deliver mitigations.
- Draft and prepare complex contract documentation.
- Promote best practices and knowledge sharing within the function.
- Manage Export Compliance and third-party rights for procured items.
- Operate as a locally acknowledged expert within the function.
Key Skills:
- Technical training to degree standard and/or significant domain experience.
- Collaboration, communication, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of Procurement within the Defence/Aerospace industry.
