Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the lead engineer and liaise with other disciplines, clients, and vendors.
  • Coordinate and work with project team members across global offices.
  • Manage a team of designers located overseas.
  • Create project-specific job notes, guides, and training material.
  • Organize schedules and resources to achieve project deliverables.
  • Break project tasks down to drawing level and estimate resources required.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools effectively.
  • Work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

KBR support the hydrocarbon and government services markets on six continents. Serving their customers through diverse business units, KBR offer challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects.

We are looking to recruit a Lead Structural Designer on a 10-month contract, based in Leatherhead, Surrey

Purpose of the Role

To support the lead engineer, liaising with other disciplines, client and vendors and coordinating and working with project team members across global offices to deliver the tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.

Skills / Experience

  • Civil and Structural Designer with a formal qualifications
  • Minimum experience of 10 years
  • Proficient in the use of Smart Plant 3D and be able to provide advice / Guidance to junior designers
  • Ability to manage a team of designers located overseas
  • Creation of project specific job notes, guides and training material to support consistent deliverables
  • Organising schedules and resources within the team to achieve required deliverables to project deadlines
  • Breaking project tasks down to drawing level and estimating resources required to complete milestones
  • Competent in the use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Work efficiently and effectively in identifying priorities and be agile in addressing emerging urgent issues as they arise
  • Work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
