Summary: The Senior Structural Designer will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of structural draughting activities on a contract basis for 6-12 months, ensuring technical quality within budget and schedule. The role requires adherence to regulatory HSE and quality requirements while contributing to continuous improvement in departmental practices. Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with clients and project teams. The designer will also engage in training and development to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and check structural deliverables in line with industry standards.
- Prepare and verify material take-offs and bills of materials.
- Conduct offshore surveys and prepare corresponding survey reports.
- Provide technical input during the detailed engineering phase of projects.
- Establish strong working relationships with designers, discipline leads, department managers, and clients.
- Ensure technical quality meets industry standards through thorough checking and approval processes.
- Participate in performance appraisals and personal development planning.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of department working practices and systems.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry.
- ONC in engineering (or equivalent) or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
- Competence in the use of AutoCAD 2D & 3D and ReCap software.
- Experience in originating and checking relevant engineering design deliverables.
- Good working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Mandatory Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc.) is desirable.
