Summary: FDM is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience to join their client in the professional services sector on a hybrid basis. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach cross-functional feature teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions
- Conduct engineering maturity assessments and provide actionable recommendations
- Develop and implement a playbook to standardise engineering practices and tooling
- Drive continuous improvement and embed best practices across teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical delivery with business goals

Key Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Senior Software Engineer or Engineering Manager in a consultancy or enterprise environment
- Demonstrated ability to see and understand the big picture and translate it into actionable engineering strategies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and team development
- Experience working in or with financial services organisations is highly desirable
- Strong background in full-stack development with hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Microservices architecture, AWS, Angular and React

This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Radbroke, Manchester or Glasgow . Our client is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer who has at least 10 years of experience to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and mature high-performing feature teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will be embedded within our client’s engineering organisation, conducting a maturity assessment of existing feature teams, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing a comprehensive engineering playbook that outlines standards, principles, tooling, and ways of working.
