Our client is looking for a strong Senior Site Manager to join a premier Tier 1 Contractor. This is an opportunity to take a leadership role on some of the most significant commercial developments in around Leicester.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Site Manager, you will be the operational lead on:site, reporting directly to the Project Manager. Your duties will include:

  • Operational Leadership: Managing the day:to:day delivery of the project, ensuring all works are executed in accordance with the construction programme and technical specifications.
  • Sub:contractor Management: Coordinating various trade packages, chairing weekly progress meetings, and ensuring all sub:contractors adhere to rigorous quality and safety standards.
  • Health, Safety and Environment: Maintaining an impeccable safety record on:site. You will be responsible for implementing RAMS, conducting site inductions, and ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Quality Control: Implementing a Right First Time culture. You will oversee quality inspections, manage the snagging process, and ensure the final handover meets Tier 1 expectations.
  • Commercial Awareness: Working closely with the surveying team to monitor variations, manage site costs, and identify potential risks to the budget or timeline.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact for architects, engineers, and the client, providing regular updates on milestones and technical challenges.

Required Experience And Qualifications

We are looking for a professional who demonstrates both the technical know:how and the leadership presence required for high:value schemes.

Experience: Proven time served in a Site Management role, specifically working on high:value commercial projects for a Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractor.

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern construction methods, structural steel, RC frames, and high:end fit:out requirements.

Certifications SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) CSCS Black Card ideally First Aid at Work Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (preferred but not essential with relevant experience)

Software Literacy: Proficiency in project management software (such as Aconex, Procore, or Field View) and a solid grasp of Microsoft Project or ASTA Powerproject.
