Summary: The role of Senior Service Designer involves working within an AI Team for a government client, focusing on designing, prototyping, and building multi-channel public services. The contract is for six months with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring two days on-site in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide, support, and mentor others in service design.
- Design services for users in complex environments and digital contexts.
- Make effective decisions based on user research data.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to negotiate design decisions.
- Facilitate workshops and co-design activities.
- Ensure services are inclusive, equitable, accessible, and sustainable.
- Work in an agile, multidisciplinary, and collaborative environment.
- Understand user journeys and design simple, accessible, and inclusive services.
- Think beyond individual screens to see how services fit into larger systems and government priorities.

Experience -
Experience of guiding, supporting and mentoring others
Experience in designing services for users in complex environments and for digital
Experience in making effective decisions with user research data
Experience of working with senior stakeholders and ability to negotiate important design decisions
Experience of engaging with people in a variety of ways (eg, workshops or co-design activities)
An understanding of the importance of inclusive, equitable, accessible and sustainable public services
Experience of working in an agile, multidisciplinary and collaborative environment
Must have a User centre mindset, caring deeply about user needs, have an understanding of differing user journeys, be able to design services that are simple, accessible and inclusive.
Ability to think beyond individual screens or services - understand how services fit into larger systems and government priorities.
