Summary: The Senior Service Delivery Manager (Band 8a) role is a leadership position within the Payroll Shared Services Centre in Belfast, responsible for ensuring high-quality payroll service delivery to HSCNI organisations. The role involves managing large teams, driving performance, and supporting strategic priorities while maintaining service level agreements. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to promote continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage payroll delivery teams to ensure high levels of service against demanding timescales and SLAs.
  • Promote a positive culture across PSC by leading by example, demonstrating effective behaviours, and supporting staff engagement.
  • Line manage a large team, providing guidance, support, and clear direction to maintain high standards of service.
  • Support the Deputy Head of Payroll in identifying strategic priorities and risks.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Head when required, representing PSC and engaging with senior stakeholders across HSCNI.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to service delivery.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across PSC, BSO, and wider HSCNI teams.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Skills:

  • A university degree or relevant professional qualification in a Finance or Business-related discipline, plus 3+ years’ experience at Middle Management level in a customer-facing service delivery role within a payroll or finance-based environment in HSC or another major complex organisation.
  • OR At least 5 years’ experience at Middle Management level in a customer-facing service delivery role within a payroll or finance-based environment in HSC or another major complex organisation.
  • Experience working in a shared service or centralised delivery environment, delivering sustained high performance.
  • Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) qualification or willingness to undertake this.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a car (or suitable alternative for applicants with a disability).

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Service Delivery Manager (Band 8a) on behalf of our client, based in Franklin Street, Belfast. This is a key leadership position within the Payroll Shared Services Centre (PSC), responsible for ensuring the effective, efficient, and high-quality delivery of payroll services to HSCNI organisations. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Payroll, the Senior Service Delivery Manager will lead large teams, drive performance, and support the delivery of payroll services to strict deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs).

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Lead and manage payroll delivery teams to ensure high levels of service against demanding timescales and SLAs.

What We’re Looking For

Essential
