Summary: Senior React Native Engineer required for a contract role focused on migrating a customer-facing mobile app from Xamarin to React Native. The position involves building new features, mentoring the development team, and managing CI/CD pipelines. The role is based in Leeds and offers a hybrid working arrangement. The contract is initially for six months with a high likelihood of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building new React Native features for iOS & Android
- Pair-programming & knowledge-sharing with the current contractor
- Guiding best practice & mentoring the wider dev team
- Integrating with REST / GraphQL APIs
- Supporting AWS / Azure cloud services
- Owning CI/CD pipelines & app-store releases
Key Skills:
- Commercial React Native experience across multiple projects
- Deep understanding of React Navigation & mobile app lifecycles
- Proven experience shipping to App Store & Google Play
- CI/CD (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, etc.) – Firebase a plus
- Track record of technical leadership / mentoring
- Bonus: Xamarin migration or legacy modernisation experience
