Senior React developer

Role Title Senior React Developer (Front End) Location - Sheffield, UK (Hybrid) Role Purpose As a Senior React Developer, you will design, build, and maintain user-facing web applications, creating interactive, accessible, and visually appealing experiences. You will take ownership of frontend architecture and system design, ensuring applications are performant, scalable, secure, and maintainable across browsers and devices. Additionally, you will: Lead the POD from a frontend perspective. Mentor and support junior React developers. Drive engineering best practices and frontend standards.

Key Responsibilities Frontend Development Design and develop complex React-based user interfaces. Build production-ready applications using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Develop reusable components and shared UI libraries. Enhance and maintain existing applications by fixing defects, improving layouts, and implementing new features. Ensure responsive design across desktop and mobile platforms. Maintain cross-browser compatibility. Frontend Architecture Own frontend system architecture and technical design. Design scalable component architecture. Implement efficient state management strategies. Optimize data fetching, caching, and application performance. Balance scalability, maintainability, security, accessibility, and developer experience. Accessibility & UI Quality Deliver accessible user interfaces aligned with WCAG standards. Use semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, and ARIA where appropriate. Promote inclusive design practices. Collaboration Work closely with: Product teams UX/UI Designers Backend Engineers QA Engineers Deliver seamless end-to-end user experiences. Engineering Excellence Conduct code reviews. Implement testing strategies. Maintain CI/CD best practices. Produce technical documentation. Improve engineering standards and development processes. Leadership Lead frontend development within the POD. Mentor junior React developers. Support technical decision-making. Promote best engineering practices across the team.
