About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage major commercial packages on a significant civil infrastructure development in the Aberdeenshire region.
Joining during the crucial pre-construction phase ahead of main build start, you will take commercial ownership of high-value civil work packages. This contract bridges a key resource gap and offers long-term stability running through to at least the end of 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management and administration of major subcontracts, specifically groundwork's (packages valued at 22m and 6m) and structural steel/envelope packages ( 13m).
- Administer subcontracts under NEC3 Option A terms, ensuring rigorous cost control, change management, and risk mitigation.
- Manage subcontractor valuations, variations, compensation events, and final accounts.
- Work closely with the project team during the pre-construction phase to establish robust commercial procedures.
- Report on commercial progress, financial reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting to project leadership.
Requirements & Experience
- Commercial Expertise: Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor managing major subcontracts on large-scale civil engineering or major build infrastructure projects.
- Contract Knowledge: Extensive hands-on experience administering NEC3 Option A contracts.
- Package Experience: Demonstrated experience managing groundwork's, earthworks, and structural steel/envelope scopes.
- Software: Familiarity with commercial management software; experience with CEAR is highly desirable.
- Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent; MRICS/MCInstCES qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
- Location: Must be able to commute to the office/site base in Aberdeen 3 days per week.
