Summary: The Senior Quantity Surveyor role involves on-site management of a new power station project in Essex, requiring a freelance contractor for a duration of 12 to 18 months. The position demands collaboration with project planners and oversight of commercial aspects, including cost management and contract variations. The role offers flexibility in working arrangements, with a minimum of three days on-site per week. Candidates must have relevant qualifications and experience in quantity surveying within the electrical and instrumentation contracting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and furnish up-to-date costs to the client based on project re-measure.
• Work closely with the project planner to develop monthly progress applications.
• Ensure all contract variations are captured from engineering deviations and site requests.
• Prepare in-house monthly commercial reports and maintain control over all commercial aspects of the project.
• Monitor earned values and calculate spend versus earned values on a weekly basis.

Key Skills:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying; trade background is advantageous.
• Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration, and close-out for multi-discipline construction projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying functions for electrical and instrumentation contracting industry operations.
