Senior Quantity Surveyor (Freelance - Outside IR35)

An established principal contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major student accommodation development in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing project team on a landmark scheme, taking ownership of commercial activities from procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of a large student accommodation project.
• Administer subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and valuations.
• Manage change control, variations and commercial risk.
• Ensure compliance with contract conditions and project procedures.
• Work closely with the project delivery team and client representatives to achieve commercial objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Previous experience delivering large-scale residential, student accommodation or mixed-use developments.
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Excellent commercial, contractual and negotiation skills.
• Able to work independently while supporting the wider project team.
• Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred.
