Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Mold, North Wales

Duration: Freelance contract until the end of February 2027

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing civil engineering and earthworks projects in the Mold area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS with strong civils experience who can hit the ground running and take ownership of commercial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of civil engineering and earthworks packages.
• Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment, variations and change control.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Administer contracts in accordance with NEC, including assessing compensation events and managing contractual notifications.
• Work closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients to resolve commercial issues.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular cost and progress reports.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering and earthworks.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Confident managing client-facing commercial responsibilities.
• Commercially switched on, proactive and able to work independently.
• Strong negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Available to commit to the contract through to the end of February 2027.
