Responsibilities As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your key responsibilities include:

• Project Leadership: Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, managing projects from early feasibility through to final account.
• Cost Consultancy Services: Preparing cost estimates, cost plans, tender documentation, and final accounts.
• Client Engagement: Leading client meetings and serving as the main point of contact throughout project lifecycles.
• Commercial Advisory: Providing advice on procurement routes, contract administration, and value engineering.
• Team Development: Mentoring junior staff, supporting APC progression, and managing workload allocation.
• Business Development: Contributing to fee proposals, resource planning, and regional client base growth initiatives.
• Collaboration: Working closely with the Cardiff office leadership team to help shape the future of the region.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

• Professional Accreditation MRICS (or equivalent professional qualification) is required.
• Industry Expertise: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in consultancy or client-side environments.
• Sector Knowledge: Proven record in delivering cost consultancy services across varied sectors such as residential, healthcare, education, and commercial developments.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of JCT, NEC, and other standard forms of contract.
• Leadership Ability: Confident in managing multiple projects and mentoring junior staff.
• Commercial Acumen: A proactive, client-focused approach.
• Personal Attributes: Ambitious, self-motivated, and ready to progress into an Associate role.

On a Typical Day, You'll Lead project meetings with internal teams and clients, ensuring clarity at all stages. Prepare cost management reports, forecasts, and cost-planning documentation for active projects. Mentor and guide junior staff members, helping them achieve their professional development goals. Engage in business development activities, identifying opportunities to enhance the consultancys portfolio. Collaborate closely with the Cardiff leadership team, contributing to strategic growth planning for the region. Provide expert commercial advice tailored to individual client needs across varied workstreams.
