Summary: The Senior Quality Advisor role at Murphy involves leading quality initiatives for a major water infrastructure project in collaboration with United Utilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the “Quality – Right First Time” initiative.
- Establish and promote best practices in quality matters.
- Ensure personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities.
- Support site management teams for compliance with Quality Plans.
- Conduct regular inspections/audits of sites and workplaces.
- Review internal and supply chain partner Inspection and Test Plans.
- Promote reporting of nonconformances and manage closure actions.
- Collate and review Business/Contract Quality statistics for reporting.
- Identify trends and areas for improvement in Quality statistics.
- Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans.
- Support Project teams in developing Quality Plans.
- Produce Quality plans, procedures, and associated documentation.
Key Skills:
- Experience within a Quality role.
- Relevant Quality Membership (CQI) beneficial.
- ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification.
- Knowledge of MS packages (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project).
- Solid understanding of ISO 9001 standard requirements.
- Chartered Quality Professional – Member (CQP MCQI) advantageous.
- Previous experience in an Engineering or Construction environment.

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quality Advisor to join our growing Infrastructure team, delivering a major water infrastructure project in partnership with United Utilities, as part of the AMP8 programme. Murphy is a long-standing delivery partner to leading water clients across the UK and Ireland, including Thames Water, Severn Trent, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water, SES Water, Bristol Water, South East Water, and Uisce Éireann, where we operate over 25 facilities under full DBOM contracts.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Quality Advisor
- Be a champion for the “Quality – Right First Time” initiative.
- Establish and promote best practice in quality matters in conjunction with the Quality function.
- Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
- Support site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the Quality Plans.
- Carry out regular inspections/audits of sites and work places to find whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and other stated requirements.
- Review of internal and supply chain partner Inspection and Test Plans
- Promote the reporting of nonconformances and manage, provide advice on closing out actions.
- Collate and review Business / Contract Quality statistics in a timely manner and submit to the Quality Management and Quality function for reporting purposes.
- Review Quality statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the Quality Management.
- Provide support to Project teams in the development of Quality Plans.
- Produce Quality plans, procedures and associated documentation and check compliance.
