Detailed Description From Employer:

We are looking for a Senior QA Tester to help us ensure our games meet the highest standards, are in keeping with our audience expectations and whose experience with video game testing provides valuable insights into how the end user will experience our game and help the development team to work effectively through their issue reporting and communication. In this role, you will be responsible for testing games within the studio and providing accurate bug reports that will be invaluable in helping the studio to release great games that players will enjoy. Your feedback on the games will help to shape the final experience for our players.

The rundown:

  • 3 month fixed term contract
  • Full time (37.5 hours per week)
  • In office

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with the QA Lead and, as needed, external QA partners, you will ensure that the game has full test coverage from start to end.
  • Collaborate with the QA Lead on the creation of testing plans.
  • Creation of concise yet informative defect reports, prioritised by severity and impact on the play experience in accordance with nDreams QA policy.
  • Keep the development team informed of any urgent issues that are affecting the game itself or your ability to carry out your role.
  • Help define the debug functionality that would make testing a game more effective
  • Work at the project planning level to ensure QA time and its needs are represented in the project scope, timelines and budgets

Requirements

The skills you'll need:

  • Ability to create and follow QA test plans and ensure critical areas of the game are tested to ensure they meet the desired function as designed and are defect free.
  • Great time management skills and ability to test complex software efficiently.
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to write detailed bug reports to help a multi-disciplined team solve reported issues more effectively.
  • Is versed in the VR platform guidelines and the complexities of providing additional data such as crash logs, videos, images or external references.
  • An excellent communicator who can concisely deliver information, both written and verbally
  • Has worked with bug tracking software and understands the value of the workflow, bug severity and prioritisation
  • A deep understanding of all the different roles that exist within a game development team so that you know who to go to when issues arise
