Summary: As a Senior Buyer for Major Infrastructure Projects at ENGIE, you will lead supplier engagement and strategic sourcing to drive innovation and sustainability within the company's UK operations. This role, which is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract starting in early February 2026, requires extensive procurement experience and a collaborative approach to meet business goals. You will manage end-to-end procurement activities and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives. Your contributions will significantly impact the energy transition and sustainability efforts at ENGIE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier engagement and strategic sourcing processes for major infrastructure projects
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals and sustainability targets
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities, from market analysis to contract negotiation and supplier performance management
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement strategies meet technical, financial, and timeline objectives
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement processes and practices

Key Skills:

  • 8-10 years of procurement experience in CAPEX, civils, and enabling works categories
  • Proven track record in end-to-end EPC/EPCM commissions
  • Strong expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation
  • Ability to define and implement procurement strategies that align with broader project objectives, including financial performance and sustainability
  • Proven experience/knowledge of Biomethane/Biogas infrastructure and balance of plant, civil works, plant upgrading, maintenance contracts would be an advantage
  • Proven ability to deliver process improvements and automation
  • Knowledge of standard NEC contracts, FIDIC terms OEM contracts, licensing contracts, service contracts, head of terms
  • Proficient in IT systems, Microsoft 365, and procurement ERP systems (SAP/Ariba preferred)
  • Degree in a relevant subject such as Engineering
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset

Job Based In London Head Office with hybrid working options available. Regular travel to our operational sites will be required at least once every two weeks. A full driving licence and own transport will be essential to meet this requirement
