Summary: The Senior Project Manager role at LNER involves leading the procurement and implementation of a new revenue management system as part of a critical initiative to enhance revenue management capabilities. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and departments to ensure project success, including defining business cases, planning, execution, and transitioning to business as usual. The role is based in York and is offered on an 18-month fixed-term contract. Candidates should possess strong project management experience and relevant qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support procurement tender preparation, evaluation, selection, and implementation of a new revenue management system.
  • Define and achieve mutual understanding of project scope with stakeholders.
  • Plan and schedule all work required to fulfill project scope, including identifying dependencies and critical paths.
  • Prepare comprehensive budgets reflecting project plans and resource needs.
  • Direct and motivate project teams to achieve desired results using matrix management.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities, including time, cost, and quality management.
  • Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Deliver serviceable outcomes and ensure smooth hand-over to the primary BAU team.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience in managing and delivering projects.
  • Degree and/or professional qualification in project management (APM, Prince2, PMP).
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Experience in benefits management and producing measurable business cases.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  • Stakeholder and change management experience.
  • Desirable experience in risk and issue management, finance and cost control, and the rail or leisure industry.

Salary (Rate): £58,000.00
