Summary: This role is for a Senior Project Manager based in Southampton, responsible for managing a variety of projects while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. The candidate must possess active SC Clearance and have experience working with the UK MoD. The position requires strong relationship management skills and the ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute contracts fully to schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Interface and manage external customers, subcontractors, partners, and internal business functions.
  • Create and maintain trusted relationships.
  • Plan and mobilise contracts successfully.
  • Identify, prioritise, and manage risks and issues associated with bidding and delivery.
  • Report and forecast accurately against KPIs.
  • Improve delivery capability in parallel to bids and contracts.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered as per contractual requirements, on time, to quality and cost.

Key Skills:

  • Experience working with the UK MoD, preferably in a lead role.
  • Extensive knowledge of Portfolio Management.
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g., APM, PMI, Prince2).
  • SAFe/Agile qualifications.
  • APM PMQ qualified or equivalent or working towards a qualification.
  • Experience in products and product development or research and consultancy.
  • Experience delivering IT projects using agile principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of Scrum.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with stakeholders.
  • Experience in a complex, multi-team environment.
  • Must be a Sole British national with active SC Security Clearance.

Salary (Rate): £105.00/hr

Searchability NS&D has a contract opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to work across an exciting range of projects

Must have active SC Clearance

Up to £765 per day - Inside IR35

WHAT WILL THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER BE DOING?

  • Consistently execute contracts fully to schedule, cost, and quality
  • Professionally interface-to and manage external Customers, Subcontractors and Partners, and internal Business Functions (balancing the needs of the business and the needs of stakeholders)
  • Create trusted and enduring relationships.
  • Plan for and successfully mobilise contracts.
  • Identify, prioritise and mitigate/manage risks & issues associated with bidding & delivery.
  • Bid with confidence; knowing schedule, cost & quality factors are fully considered
  • Report/forecast accurately against KPI’s
  • Continually improve delivery capability in parallel to bids and contracts
  • To ensure all projects within your portfolio are delivered as per contractual requirements, on time, to quality and cost. This will include the need to act in the capability of a Project Manager on specific projects within the portfolio.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

This opportunity requires experience of working with the UK MoD, preferably taking a lead role delivering framework / product projects

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Portfolio Management

Appropriate Project Management qualifications (e.g., APM, PMI, Prince2)

SAFe/ Agile qualifications

APM PMQ qualified or equivalent or working towards a qualification

Experience in either products and product development or research and consultancy.

Experience in delivering IT delivery projects using agile principles and methods.

Knowledge of Scrum

Behaviourally – this is key. Must be able to fit in, negotiate and talk openly with all stakeholders.

Technically – experience of working within a complex, multi team environment and the processes of such
