Summary: The Senior Project Manager will oversee large-scale construction projects, including new builds and refurbishments, for a global real estate company based in Newcastle. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract, focusing on collaboration with various stakeholders and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex construction projects and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring successful delivery within time, budget, and quality parameters
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project objectives are met
  • Implementing and overseeing effective project governance, processes, and systems throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies to address potential issues
  • Monitoring project finances and managing the change control process
  • Facilitating clear communication among team members and stakeholders through regular meetings and written reports
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with existing and potential clients
  • Mentoring and guiding junior project managers to foster their professional development

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience in managing large-scale construction projects (new build and refurb)
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, and industry best practices
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in a consultancy environment is preferred

Salary (Rate): 75000
