Job Summary

Job Description
DIO's MPP USVF team act as the delivery agent for a diverse £1.8bn design and construction portfolio on USVF bases within the UK. The Area Project Manager is responsible to the Deputy Head of Major Programmes and Projects United States Visiting Forces (USVF) for the delivery of assigned Capital Infrastructure projects. The Senior Project Managers will manage a variety of construction projects at their associated bases. They will deliver infrastructure projects in support of US forces operating from the UK. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of managing and delivering projects against a broad range of programme and project management functional competences. As the Senior Project Manager you will provide effective management, motivation, co-ordination of integrated project teams to deliver a range of projects to time, cost, quality and performance parameters. You will support Customers to manage and maintain project approvals and deliver within your delegated authority. You are accountable for ensuring adherence and conformity to all agreed DIO processes and operating procedures and particularly those which are detailed under key infrastructure process. The programmes at RAF Croughton, Molesworth, Alconbury, Fairford, Menwith Hill, Lakenheath and Mildenhall are valued around £2.04Bn which consists of multiple construction, refurbishment and replacement projects at various stages in the construction process. The Senior Project Manager leads for their area of responsibility and works under their Assistant Head and alongside other Project Management colleagues to develop a positive working environment designed to achieve a High Performing Team ethos across the USVF Infrastructure Programme.

Person specification
Providing the senior Intelligent Client interface in the management of industry partners, selected through various procurement mechanisms to deliver projects on behalf of DIO in line with MOD processes, procedures and contractual terms and conditions. Proactive Contract Management to maintain a productive working relationship with industry partners and suppliers, monitoring their performance in terms of quality, time, cost and reliability. Drive efficient delivery and promptly manage emerging issues to avoid programme delays or cost escalation. Manage financial performance of projects within agreed tolerances to control expenditure against approved project budgets and provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting to senior leadership. Undertake project assurance and reviews at key project stages to evaluate progress, compliance and probability of delivery to provide confidence to senior management, customers and key partners.
