Senior Project Manager

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Project Manager to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Edinburgh or Alderley Park. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who is skilled in waterfall methodology as opposed to agile with an understanding of digital communications. You’ll have a background in financial services to understand the regulatory landscape. As part of your role, you will define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress while ensuring resource availability and allocation
• Manage changes to the project scope, schedule and costs utilising appropriate verification techniques as well as measuring project performance using suitable tools and techniques
• Ensure that all projects and initiatives have high levels of complexity and are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Manage the relationship with the client, sponsor, project stakeholders and third parties/vendors
• Enhance leadership skills and delegate project tasks based on team members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
• Track project performance to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals while performing risk management to mitigate project risks
• Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis while reporting and escalating to management as needed
• Create comprehensive project documentation while developing project plans to share with clients and other staff members

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in leading project teams with minimal support and supervision
• Highly competent in using planning tools
• Deep understanding and experience with waterfall methodology
• Experienced in implementing and operating financial control frameworks
• Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business and technical needs
• Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business or technical objective
• Interpersonal skills to influence change, facilitating and enhancing performance within cross-functional environment
• Excellent decision-making skills to resolve business problems and identify priorities
