Summary: The role is for a Senior Technical Project Manager to oversee the final stages of a major transformation programme for a client. The position requires hands-on involvement with delivery teams, ensuring timely execution and resolution of issues. The contract is for 3-6 months, with a requirement to be onsite three days a week in Crewe. The role is classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day delivery across complex Agile software workstreams, driving progress from backlog through release and hypercare
  • Maintain accurate, evidence-based reporting (RAID, delivery status, dependencies, risks/issues, decisions)
  • Drive defect/bug triage and closure alongside engineering and testing teams
  • Coordinate UAT readiness, business engagement, and change activity to support successful adoption
  • Manage dependencies across internal teams and third-party/outsourced partners, ensuring governance and controls are followed without slowing delivery
  • Support release readiness, cutover planning, and BAU handover

Key Skills:

  • Proven track record as a Senior Project Manager / Technical PM / Delivery Manager delivering complex software changes in Agile environments
  • Strong hands-on use of Atlassian tools (Jira + Confluence) for backlog tracking, dashboards/reporting, and ticket/defect management
  • Demonstrable experience working directly with software engineering teams (not infrastructure-only)
  • Strong experience in testing/UAT coordination, defect triage, and delivery reporting
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, low-support environment: proactive, self-starting, and able to hit the ground running
  • Excellent stakeholder management across business and technology teams, including third parties/suppliers

Salary (Rate): £65.00/hr

About the Company We’re supporting a client nearing the end of a major transformation programme. This is a 3-6 month contract and looking for someone to start immediately. They must be able to be onsite 3 days a week and commutable to Crewe. The role is Outside IR35.

About the Role They need a hands-on Senior Technical Project Manager to embed with the delivery team and drive execution through the final stages — keeping delivery on track, reporting factual, and ensuring tickets/defects are driven to closure. This is not a “steerco-only” role. You’ll be close to the work, working day-to-day with engineers, testing/UAT and business stakeholders, and operating comfortably in a lean environment with minimal support.
