Senior Project Manager (FS/Infrastructure, Networking & Security)
£550 per day outside IR35, 6 months initially, London & Remote Working
Bench IT require a Senior Project Manager to join a large organisation starting ASAP working hybrid in London 3 days per week with the remaining time delivered remotely. The Senior Project Manager will own a rolling portfolio of IT infrastructure, cyber-security, resilience and regulatory-compliance projects within a regulated financial-services technology environment.
The role involves managing multiple concurrent projects across EMEA and APAC, delivering to firm regulatory deadlines, and reporting into project Steering Committees and IT leadership. The successful candidate must be able to pick up in-flight projects at pace and should have the skills and experience included below.
Essential Experience
- Financial-services/regulated IT delivery - proven delivery of IT infrastructure and operations projects in a regulated enterprise environment.
- Regulatory & audit-driven projects - hands-on delivery of compliance initiatives such as disaster-recovery/business-continuity testing, identity & access (MFA), or external audit support. Awareness of frameworks such as FCA, NYDFS, DORA or equivalent is a strong advantage.
- Concurrent multi-project delivery - demonstrable track record running four or more parallel projects to fixed deadlines without slippage.
- Broad infrastructure & operations grounding - networks, data-centre/comms-room hardware, cloud (Azure), backup & recovery, monitoring/observability, end-user services and mobile/unified comms, observability & monitoring, identity & securing, end user services.
- Cyber-security dimension - comfortable delivering projects involving security controls, application inventory/classification and working alongside InfoSec teams.
- Multi-region coordination - delivery across EMEA and APAC time zones, including multi-site office/hardware rollouts.
- Third-party & vendor management - managing external suppliers, MSPs and SaaS/carrier vendors through delivery, including contract and cost considerations.
- Governance & reporting - producing project briefs, status reports, risk logs and financials, and presenting to Steering Committees and senior stakeholders.
- Full project lifecycle - from intake and planning through execution to BAU handover and closure, using structured PMO templates and methods.
- PM tooling & method - structured project intake, PMO templates, Gantt planning; PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, MSP or ITIL.
