Summary: The role of Interim Senior Project Manager involves leading the delivery of two significant heritage capital projects, including a Community Hub/Library and a Museum & Art Gallery, on behalf of a local authority. The position requires strong technical expertise, stakeholder management skills, and experience in managing complex schemes. The contract is interim for at least six months and offers a competitive daily rate. The role is hybrid based in the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the successful delivery of the Heritage capital projects from inception through to completion.
- Act as the Council's representative, ensuring robust project governance, risk management, and quality assurance throughout.
- Manage multiple stakeholders and funding partners, ensuring collaboration and effective communication at all levels.
- Oversee contractors, consultants, and design teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
- Provide clear reporting, progress updates, and assurance to senior officers, members, and funding bodies.
Key Skills:
- Proven track record in delivering large, complex construction projects on behalf of a public sector client (Local Authority preferred).
- Experience in heritage and listed building projects.
- Relevant construction-related qualification (e.g., MCIOB, MRICS, MAPM, or equivalent experience).
- Strong skills in stakeholder management, particularly with multiple funding groups.
- Excellent project leadership, contract management, and reporting skills.
