Summary: The Senior Project Finance and Risk Advisor (SPFRA) role at Sightsavers involves supporting project financial management and donor compliance within the Programme Finance Team. The position requires a detailed understanding of donor regulations and is integral to the project life-cycle from design to close-out. The SPFRA will also engage in capacity building and provide financial management support across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is a two-year fixed-term contract based in the UK, with occasional office visits required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide financial management support and advice throughout the project cycle, including design, proposal development, implementation, and close-out.
• Identify gaps and challenges in capacity building and implement plans to address them.
• Manage a portfolio of projects independently with support as needed.
• Engage in special objectives and projects as assigned by the Programme Finance team.
• Ensure timely and high-quality project financial planning, monitoring, and reporting.

Key Skills:

• Proven finance and accountancy experience with strong numerical skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working for an international NGO.
• Solid track record in institutional donor project financial management.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process enhancement and risk mitigation.
• Experience with USAID, EC, and FCDO project financial management.
• Experience in providing financial training to staff.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
