Summary: The Senior Project Engineer at Repsol is tasked with managing modifications on assigned assets or projects, focusing on a risk-based execution strategy. This role involves collaboration with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and maintain project documentation. The engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety processes and delivering projects on time and within budget. Additionally, the position requires oversight of contractor plans and engagement with internal teams to drive business improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver OPEX/CAPEX modifications on time and within budget per asset priorities.
- Identify and execute facility modifications with asset teams.
- Ensure compliance with Repsol’s Minor Mods process and PEPs.
- Develop and manage project Assurance plans and reviews.
- Promote HSE standards using Repsol’s safety processes (RA, HIRA, HAZOP, etc.).
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and AFEs; maintain accurate forecasts.
- Oversee contractor plans and ensure cost/schedule control during execution.
- Manage technical changes via AFA process in eWork (as JRE).
- Drive business improvements and manage project risks/opportunities.
- Coordinate with contractors and internal teams; manage interfaces.
- Engage ICPs and close out findings per Repsol standards.
- Maintain records of decisions, actions, and change controls.
- Apply lean methods to improve efficiency and challenge norms.
- Support technical bid evaluations and solution assessments.
- Ensure timely project closeout and Controlled Document updates.
- Lead quality planning, audits, inspections, and NCR resolution.
- Liaise with vendors to uphold quality standards.
Key Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of UKCS oil & gas regulations, codes, standards, and best practices.
- Extensive engineering and project delivery experience, ideally with both operator and contractor backgrounds.
- Solid understanding of industry technology trends and challenges.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective contractor relationships.
- Strong ownership and accountability for cost and schedule performance.
- Awareness and competence in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (preferred).
- Formal project management qualification (preferred).
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
